KMWA kids group joined the Gillingham Scouts and Explorers for an Event at Grange Farm

A day of activities and adventure was organised today as the KMWA kids group joined the Gillingham Scouts and explorers at lower Grange Farm in Sandling.

There were an amazing variety of activities giving boys and girls between 10 and 18 years the opportunity to try out new activities. Those who participated had a great time and our thanks goes to Brother Faheem and his team for their effort in arranging this.

Lights Festival Rochester

This year on February 11th-12th Rochester lit up with Medway Lights Festival transforming Rochester’s historic iconic buildings and spaces into works of art. KMWA’s Azeem Nader, Rizwana Shelly and Ajaib Hussain participated with a discussion on what makes Medway great and beautiful and what we love about it. It was fantastic to see the whole community come together in praise of Medway from young to old who have arrived in the UK and are trying to build a better life.

International Holocaust Memorial Day

Every year the International Holocaust Memorial Day is held on the 27th January and remembrance services are held locally, alternating between the Chatham Memorial Synagogue and Rochester Cathedral.

As well as prayers, exhibitions, and poems there are also plays by school children to commemorate and remember not only the Holocaust atrocities and persecution of Jews in Nazi Germany during World War II but also the recent genocides that have happened in Darfur, Bosnia, Cambodia, Rohingya Muslims in Burma/Myanmar and more recently the Uyghur Muslims genocide/persecution in China.

If you would like to support more of these humanitarian activities,

A Beautiful Exhibit from the KMWA’s Youngsters

This was a great opportunity for parents to accompany their six and upward/ young teens to experience an afternoon of creative self expression in the form of Pebble Art.

An extremely well planned event allowing young hands to explore the offerings of nature. Shells, large/small pebbles, twigs and paints were provided for these young minds to create their unique art works. Once assembled and glued they were framed.

Expert supervision and guidance was provided by the teachers.
An extremely well thought out creative space catering for the younger years by providing height appropriate tables.

This was a lovely opportunity for parents and kids to bond in a joint activity. Also allowing parents to connect or reconnect with other parents.

Thank you KMWA Volunteers for providing such a well planned and wonderful opportunity within the walls of our blessed Masjid.
